My greatest joy is working directly with people on what matters most to them - even when the issues are challenging.
My goal is to make a space where, together, we can understand where you are at. We then match your individual needs with resources that can help. We’ll draw on research, experience and evidence based approaches (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy/CBT, especially Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/ACT, mindfulness based approaches and trauma processing approaches like Internal Family Systems/IFT and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing/EMDR and more). Work is individualised for you and your circumstances.
We all need to be heard and deeply understood. Helping you build good relationships in and outside therapy is central to the way I work.
Psychology is a fast growing field and I enjoy constantly learning and integrating new findings.
What to expect? When you contact me I get a brief sense of what you are looking for via phone or email. I let you know whether I believe I can assist, times available, fees and funding. If it seems it’s a fit, we set up a first appointment.
During the first meeting I will get to know you a little, learn about your concerns and what you’re hoping for. Usually by the end of the first session, we have some shared sense of how we’re going to begin to work together. I aim to leave you with one or two ideas that can help you begin to feel a little better.
The first session is also an important chance for you to get to know me, and get a sense of whether I’m someone you can work with.
As a supervisor I enjoy supporting other practitioners at all stages of their journey including primary supervision for those completing the Ed Dev endorsement.
I’d love to hear from you.
