Mental Health Care Plans
All those living in Australia covered by Medicare are entitled to 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year to help cover the costs of psychological support.
To access these rebates you need a “Mental Health Care Plan” (MHCP), also sometimes called a “Mental Health Treatment Plan” (MHTP). You get a Mental Health Care Plan from your general practitioner or GP.
It is not necessary to have a mental health diagnosis to receive a plan, as psychologists can help with stress and things like adjustment and parenting.
To get your Mental Health Care Plan make an appointment with your GP, be sure to let them know you want a Mental Health Care Plan, or select this option if booking on line.
Belinda is happy to see clients under Mental Health Care Plans. Provided you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan your rebate will be processed immediately and paid into you Medicare nominated account on receipt of payment for your session.
